Absence
The Peak Academy prides itself on having good attendance and maintaining a continuity of learning. We work in close partnership with parents to ensure that this is achieved. Please note that we do not authorise absences within term time for holidays, and any request for absence, in exceptional circumstances, will be assessed on an individual basis.
Illness
If your child is ill, we will look after them until you are able to get to school, or we can arrange transport home. Please keep your child home if they are unwell and telephone the school or send a note of explanation when they return. A letter or phone call is required if, for any reason, your child is to leave school early or arrive late. If absences are unauthorised, or a child is persistently late, the educational welfare officer will be informed.
Accidents
We have a policy to assure the safety of everyone at The Peak Academy. If your child has an accident, they will be given the correct attention at the time, and you will be informed of the incident. You will need to sign a form in order for school to administer medication to your child. Your class tutor will discuss these and any other forms with you and be available to help you complete them.
In the event of serious accident, it may be necessary for us to telephone an ambulance and give permission for any medical treatment. It is vital that we have up-to-date contact details in order to contact parents in this event.
