Interventions at The Peak Academy

The Peak Academy provides an extensive intervention programme for our pupils.

Our Intervention programmes support Inclusion through removing barriers to learning and helping the child improve in an area of need.

We are a Specialist SEMH provision and as all our pupils’ Primary need is SEMH we provide a range of Interventions to support each of these areas.

Who receives Intervention?

Pupils of all ability receive interventions as appropriate.

The school considers whether an intervention is required to help a pupil overcome a difficulty, a barrier to learning, support to accelerate progress or for Wellbeing.

Intervention requirement is determined through EHCP reviews, formative and summative assessment, data drops and daily behaviour and engagement with learning analysis.

Types of Intervention

  • In- Class
  • Additional
  • External Agency

In-Class Interventions support progress and ensures that gaps in learning are closed. A range of differentiation Strategies are utilised to meet need based on assessment. They range from additional support provided by Teaching assistants and Specialist Teachers to targeted support to address learning needs such as Visual and Auditory memory.
