Skylark Adventures Update 17th May 2019

The penultimate outdoor education trip with Skylark Adventures and our instructor Seb had arrived and the group were keen to get to Plump Hill to be involved in some more climbing and abseiling.

The enthusiasm and maturity they demonstrated when getting the kit ready and preparing for the short journey was clearly visible. All of the group were either offering to help the staff or support each other.

Arriving at the venue our instructor gave the group a quick brief of expectations on the activity, whilst Peak staff reinforced positive behaviour and coping strategies that could be put in place. As a group we then walked the short distance to the crag, where we set up the equipment for climbing and abseiling.

All of the group participated in the activity and pushed themselves well beyond their comfort zones, with some of the group completing an abseil whilst others climbed. One of our group members even completed a rap jump (forward abseiling) This was all participated in with the sun shining and clear blue sky above us.

Arriving back at school the group again supported staff and each other with putting the kit away and preparing for the end of the day.
