The last day of term has arrived and with it comes the final day of Forest Mentoring.
Arriving at school the boys were excited to be involved in the intervention again they were also really pleased to have another day of great weather, so that they could enjoy their experience out in the fire area. Having gathered them together, we all went to collect the kit and take it to the venue. Once we were there, the first task was to collect wood and prepare the area so that we could light a fire.
When this was completed, the boys helped to chop wood and help make a table out of the natural resources. All of the boys in the group displayed the schools values as well as many other life skills during the activity, which was finished off with cooking pizza pockets and toasting marshmallows, before we packed the kit away for lunch and transport home.
