Arnside have been studying tension and the development of characters within Blood Brothers this week. They have been able to make comparisons between the experiences of characters and the impact it has on their behaviour and personality.
Nevis continue to show progress when reading texts for different purposes. They have been reading texts and responding to a variety of questions, multiple choice as well as inference.
Scafell have written descriptions of their own monsters this week as a development of their reading of Frankenstein. Pupils have confidently used similes and metaphors to create imagery.
Baystones and Skiddaw continue reading War Horse as well as watching the film. They have been commenting on the differences between text and screen. Pupils have found examples in the text to show how tension and atmosphere have been created.
Donard are able to write direct and reported speech. They have also identified a number of words to use as alternatives to “said”.
