Learning and Education

Pastoral

At The Peak Academy, we provide excellent pastoral support through an inclusive and caring learning environment. We have an open and honest culture which provides a positive atmosphere for all to learn and work in.

"Some behaviour in lessons is excellent and comparable to the very best seen in any school."

Ofsted Inspection, June 2015

At the Academy, we know that education works best if parents and carers are fully involved in their children’s learning through regular and frequent meetings with teachers and tutors as well as other key staff. That is why our tutors and pastoral staff will create a personal relationship with a student and their family. We see parents and carers as partners in learning; this approach helps us inspire and motivate each student and means that all staff can be more effective.

There are a number of specialist and targeted interventions available at the Academy to support the individual development of every pupil. These include equine therapy, forest schools, gardening, and counselling, as well as access to many others depending on the individual’s needs. Our expertly trained staff have a wealth of knowledge when working with and supporting children, regardless of their additional needs. The Academy has a number of bespoke areas throughout the school which offer our pupils the chance to recognise, Relax, reflect, refresh, and re-organise whenever they are experiencing difficulties either in class or around school.

At all times, the needs of the pupils are paramount, and they remain our focus while they continue their education with us. If you wish to discuss anything we do or offer at The Peak Academy, please get in touch via the details on the contact page.
