The Peak Academy yesterday held their Sports Day and what a day was had by all. We were supported by Vernon Samuels, part of the Sky Olympic Ambassador program and students ran, jumped and threw with outstanding results.
The overall winners of the day were Cook but each and every students performed superbly and were a real credit to themselves and The Peak.
In the morning events students competed in sprints and middle distance events, as well as long jump, javelin and shot put. We followed this up with superb and very competitive relay events (which staff just pipped) and in the afternoon took part in a inter house softball competition.
The levels of competitiveness, team work and togetherness displayed by students was outstanding and each house entered a minimum of 2 athletes in each event with 16 in the long jump alone!!
Vernon Samuels quoted ‘ It was an absolute pleasure and honour for me to be part of your sports day. Your staff are really pouring a lot of positivity into lives of these young people and long may it continue’.
Next year we are aiming to go bigger and better.
Well done the fantastic Peak Academy.
