I am delighted to welcome you to The Peak & Greenfield Academy.

The education we provide is guided by values of Respect, Trust, Humility and Excellence. These values are particularly important to us as we develop the pupils into lifelong learners and prepare them for a life beyond school.

We are an 11-16, specialist academy where everyone, staff and pupils, strive to be the best they can be. Our aim is simple ‘unlock potential’. We are proud of our warm and welcoming community in which everyone participates to make a positive contribution. We support young pupils from across Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

As a father, I am acutely aware of the increasing importance of education in today’s world. And the role that teachers have to play in developing our children so that they are fully equipped to make a positive contribution to society.

Expectations and aspirations are high at The Peak Academy. We are committed to developing the young people in our care so that children of all abilities, backgrounds and cultures can flourish and realise their potential in a happy, caring environment.

I enormously value the links between the academy and home – success is built on strong partnerships with parents/carers and ourselves. My door is always open, and prospective, or existing parents/carers are very welcome to visit the Academy: I look forward to meeting you.

The Peak Academy – ‘Unlocking Potential’

Jack Wilkins

Head Pupil

Hello and welcome to my school!

My name is Jack. I am in Year 10, a member of the school council and Head Pupil of a very special school.  For the majority of pupils, mainstream education has been difficult or impossible to access and I feel very lucky to come here, where there is a family feel, confidence is built and futures are improved.  The Peak Academy helps nurture us, manage behaviour, problem solve and team build through fun and challenging activities.  Not everyone can say they made their own paddle and used it to kayak along the River Wye…..I did!! I enjoy construction, especially woodwork and also mechanics and am working towards my BTEC qualifications.

The outdoor stuff we do is brilliant!  For example, the Royal Marines have visited and put us through some of their training exercises, we go camping, kayaking, trekking to name just a few things and our end of year reward trip is legendary!  It’s hard work learning to get along with everyone and the staff help a lot so that we gain trust and understanding.  We are encouraged everyday to be the best we can be.  I am working towards GCSEs and vocational qualifications with the goal of becoming a carpenter and having my own business one day.  Being at The Peak Academy has changed my life for the better.

Please take a look at our website, celebrate our achievements on Twitter and get in touch if you think you can help us in any way.
